Parenting Classes that Work

Effective parenting is one of life’s biggest challenges. But there is a model — the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) — used by millions of parents to raise confident, responsible, and cooperative children. The model offers simple, practical solutions based on a sound and well-researched educational philosophy.

The STEP model describes three types of parents: Authoritarian, Permissive, Democratic. The focus is on teaching the Democratic style, which helps children become responsible by setting limits and giving choices within those limits.

Irine uses the STEP model to teach parents how to respond to specific challenges — in individual or group sessions. She says, “Even more importantly, I teach them how to form a close, loving, and lasting relationship with their children — the real key to overcoming the challenges that threaten a healthy parent-child relationship.”
